XENTRY OpenShell 06.2026 is the June 2026 release of the Mercedes-Benz XENTRY Diagnosis OpenShell platform, designed for professional workshops, automotive technicians, and Mercedes-Benz specialists using dedicated diagnostic interfaces such as SDConnect C5, C6 VCI, and compatible VXDIAG devices.

This release provides comprehensive diagnostic coverage for supported Mercedes-Benz passenger cars, vans, Smart, Maybach, and selected FUSO vehicles. It combines vehicle identification, control-unit diagnostics, fault-code processing, live data, guided test procedures, adaptations, service functions, coding workflows, and supported programming operations within the familiar XENTRY diagnostic environment.

The 06.2026 release is particularly suitable for workshops that require updated vehicle coverage and compatibility with newer CAN and DoIP-based Mercedes-Benz platforms.

Compatible Diagnostic Interfaces

XENTRY OpenShell is intended primarily for dedicated Mercedes-Benz diagnostic hardware, including SDConnect C5, supported C6 VCI devices, and compatible VXDIAG Mercedes-Benz interfaces.

Interface capabilities can vary depending on the hardware revision, firmware, drivers, vehicle platform, and communication protocol. For newer DoIP vehicles, a properly configured DoIP-compatible interface is required.

Vehicle Coverage

The software supports a broad range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including passenger cars, commercial vans, Smart vehicles, Maybach models, and supported FUSO applications.

Coverage includes many established and current vehicle platforms, such as A-Class, B-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLA, CLS, GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS, G-Class, SL, AMG GT, Sprinter, Vito, V-Class, Citan, EQV, eSprinter, and supported Mercedes-EQ vehicles.

Actual diagnostic and programming capabilities depend on the vehicle model, production year, installed control units, security architecture, interface hardware, and availability of required Mercedes-Benz authorization services.

Main Diagnostic Functions

XENTRY OpenShell provides access to professional Mercedes-Benz diagnostic workflows, including complete vehicle scans, manufacturer-specific fault-code reading and clearing, control-unit identification, actual values and live data, actuator tests, adaptations, teach-in procedures, service functions, component commissioning, and guided troubleshooting procedures.

Technicians can use XENTRY to follow structured diagnostic test plans, analyze vehicle systems, inspect control-unit parameters, perform supported component replacements, reset service indicators, calibrate vehicle systems, and carry out many manufacturer-specific workshop procedures.

Depending on the vehicle and authorization requirements, XENTRY can also provide access to variant coding, ECU software updates, control-unit programming, parameterization, commissioning, and SCN-related procedures.

Support for Modern Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

The 06.2026 release provides updated diagnostic data for newer Mercedes-Benz platforms and technologies, including vehicles using CAN, Ethernet, and DoIP communication architectures.

For vehicles equipped with secure diagnostic access or protected vehicle functions, additional authorization, valid certificates, Mercedes-Benz credentials, or online services may be required. Installing XENTRY alone does not bypass Mercedes-Benz security systems or guarantee unrestricted access to protected coding and programming functions.

XENTRY OpenShell vs XENTRY PassThru

XENTRY OpenShell is the preferred option for workshops using dedicated Mercedes-Benz diagnostic interfaces such as SDConnect C5, compatible C6 VCI devices, or supported VXDIAG hardware. It is generally the better choice for technicians who regularly work on Mercedes-Benz vehicles and require deeper integration with dedicated diagnostic hardware.

XENTRY PassThru is designed for supported J2534 interfaces and is more suitable for workshops that use multi-brand diagnostic hardware.

Choose OpenShell when you have compatible dedicated Mercedes-Benz hardware. Choose PassThru when you primarily work with supported J2534 PassThru devices.

System Requirements

For reliable performance, a modern Windows computer with an Intel Core i5 processor or better, at least 8 GB of RAM, and SSD storage is recommended. A minimum of 20 GB of available storage should be reserved for installation files, temporary data, and future updates.

Windows 10 64-bit provides the most established environment for this release. Windows 11 compatibility can depend on the diagnostic interface, driver package, and system configuration.

A stable vehicle power supply or professional battery support unit should always be used during ECU programming, software updates, commissioning, and other operations where interruption could damage a control unit.

Installation Guide Included

The package includes a step-by-step installation video guide designed to help users prepare the Windows environment, install the required software components, complete the XENTRY installation, configure the diagnostic interface, and verify communication with the software.

Follow the installation guide carefully and ensure that all software, licenses, certificates, credentials, and diagnostic hardware are obtained and used in accordance with applicable Mercedes-Benz terms and authorization requirements.
